I think that this article will be an eye opener to many countries across the globe and will push the countries to have a greater cause and aim for the future of not only their country but the world as a whole.
According to a survey conducted by Ipsos MORI, The US is no more the most influential country in the world and was greatly overlooked by most participants and as it looks the country’s positive influence on the world is declining at a faster rate than any other country.
The research polled 18,055 respondents from across 25 countries.
Canada, with 81% of the respondents’ support, ranked 1st on the list. With 79%, Australia took the 2nd place and Germany was crowned 3rd with 67% of the respondents voting in its support.
But it seems like the US is losing its light and the world’s greatest country of all times has disappointed the world. US came 9th in the list while counties like China, India and France had a better statistics than the US coming 8th, 7th and 4th respectively.
The US approval rating dropped by 24 percentage points since last year’s ratings while in Europe, amid the turmoil of Brexit also, participants saw the EU and UK as a positive influence over the world by 57% but the rating of the UK has significantly dropped by 10 points.
Iran and Israel also made the list but with only 21% and 32% of the respondents thinking that they make a positive influence on the world stage. Organization S like the World Bank and IMF also made the list but both experienced a 7 point drop. The good news is they are still ahead of China and the United States even after the drop.
The World Bank and IMF have both experienced a 7 point drop in approval but still sit ahead of China and the United States. China’s global positive influence is viewed by the respondents as 49% which also surpasses Russia whose rating this year was only 35 percent.
