It has finally been 19 years since the famous battle of 1998 at Hogwarts and finally Harry Potter’s own son Albus Severus Potter has officially boarded the Hogwarts Express on September 1st, 2017 according to the ending of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. On this emotional note, let us not forget the day our very own Happy Potter, the boy who lived, boarded the train himself and embarked on what can be said as the most magical adventure of his life where he met his best friends Ron and Hermione and how can we forget Ginny, his high school love whom he went on to marry.
On this very beautiful occasion, we cannot do the crime of not remembering legends like Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin to name a few. How can we not remember the ever mischievous and ever smiling Fred who lost his life 19 years ago at the Battle. To every unsung hero of the Harry Potter series, here’s to remembering the legacy that lives on in the hearts and minds of millions of Potterheads including me.
To mark the very iconic day of the wizarding world, the Muggle world celebrated it with equal zeal. Hundreds and thousands of fans from all over the world came to King’s Cross train station on 1st September to feel and celebrate the final scene of the magical book series which was written by J.K. Rowling and later made into motion films. In the finale, Harry, Ginny, Ron, Hermione and even the Malfoys are seen sending their wards off to Hogwarts School sending the message that it all comes back to where it began 19 years back when these grown ups were being put into their seats by their magical parents.
And amongst all the joy and excitement, none other than Professor Filius Flitwick who taught Harry and his friends Charms or Griphook, the worker at Gringotts who helped Harry and his friends sneak into the bank came to visit the station. It was our very own Warwick Davis who made an appearance at the event.
According to the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” book and movie, it is on 1st September,2017 when Albus Severus Potter, Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy are set to board the Hogwarts Express which their parents boared 19 years ago. Fans have been celebrating the day on social media with the hashtag #19YearsLater.
Admit it, we have all grown up to believe in this beautiful magical world that lies beyond our reach unless we have magic in our blood and eyes which brings me to the fact that J.K. Rowling herself
tweeted about the magnificent event saying, “ Today’s the day Albus Severus Potter boards the Hogwarts Express at King’s Cross for the first time.”
We hope Albus and his new found friends reach the Hogwarts ground safely and enjoy the boat ride thoroughly like their parents did.
